• I believe that we are greater together. I am committed to a collaborative approach to solve today’s issues and tomorrow’s challenges.

• I believe it is our obligation to ensure a quality education. We must give our kids the tools they need to compete in a global economy.

• I believe that we must always provide for the needs of our aging population. It is our obligation to make sure the promise of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are protected and that we guarantee a good standard of living for our seniors and retirees.

• I believe in a level playing field: everyone gets a fair shot and everybody plays by the same set of rules.

• I believe in having access to quality, affordable health care. The character of a society can be judged by how it cares for those citizens most in need.

• I believe the political arena needs to give more attention to rural issues, and as a whole needs to discuss how to better understand how “rural” fits into the political equation.

• I believe that public safety must always be a priority. Our first responders and law enforcement agencies must be given the funds and resources they need to keep our communities safe and secure.

• I believe that we all must improve our understanding and commitment to the issues and challenges facing our active duty service members, our veterans, and their families. We honor their service and sacrifice by keeping our promises and commitments to them – both on and off the battlefield.

• I believe in protecting the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the land that supports and sustains us. I am committed to a clean energy economy and tackling issues of climate change.

• I believe in justice, fairness, and equality for everyone. I will firmly stand against intolerance and discrimination based on gender, age, class, race, disability, religion, and sexual orientation.
