She has taken bold and direct action on behalf of all people and worked tirelessly to protect our air, water, land, and local communities across Colorado. She served six years as a State Representative and is currently the Chair of Health & Human Services in the Colorado Senate representing Senate District 28.

Our district is a bright, vibrantly diverse piece of Colorado!
With a population of over 160,000, Senate District 28 has grown significantly in the last ten years – bringing in new cultures, communities, and perspectives. In addition to continuing to serve the people of Aurora, the 2020 Census significantly re-framed and expanded our district to include Buckley Space Force Base, the town of Watkins and areas to the east of Denver International Airport.
Senate District 28 is one of the most vibrant and unique economies in Colorado; covering urban, suburban, and rural regions in Adams and Arapahoe Counties. Our diverse population and many thriving industries help Coloradans develop their careers, support their families, and build toward the future together.
